Wings of Hope Success

‘Congratulations to Our WOHAA 2023/24 Award Winners!

We are incredibly proud of Team Fuelling Futures from Queen Elizabeth's Girls' School for being the runners-up in the Most Funds Raised OVERALL category at the Wings of Hope Achievement Awards (WOHAA) 2023/24.  Their hard work and dedication have made a significant impact, raising vital funds to support the Wings of Hope’s international projects. Their impressive fundraising skills, combined with their passion to help those in need, have been truly inspiring. Team Fuelling Futures’ initiatives have showcased not only their drive to make a difference but also their heartfelt commitment to improving the lives of others.

"Our team, Fuelling Futures, attended the Wings of Hope awards ceremony on Friday 11 October, where we received the top winning award for the 'Most Funds Raised' category and also Runner Up overall of the whole competition 2023/24!

Along our WOHAA journey, we organised and carried out six fundraisers in total - a Sponsored 10K Swim with support from the David Lloyd Club, a Second-Hand Sale, a Bake Sale and a follow-up Bake Sale to implement improvements and learning strategies leading to a 20% increase in sales, a Door-to-Door sale and a Walk-a-thon. We also held two community actions, one of which was a Book Drive where we collected and donated 276 books to distribute amongst the community through the Children's Book Project to those with few books of their own.

As a team, we raised over £3100 for The Wings of Hope Charity!

We are incredibly grateful for the support we received and very excited about the impact of our efforts on the education of children in India and Malawi."    - Eve and Magda
