Queen Elizabeth’s Girls’ School seeks to appoint a talented and inspirational professional to lead it’s successful Science Department from September 2025.
The Head of Science plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the Science Department to ensure high standards of teaching, learning and achievement. This involves strategic leadership, team management and the development of a strong science curriculum.
You will have the opportunity to shape the curriculum, develop innovative teaching methods, and mentor and develop a team of talented science teachers. You will be focused on the attainment of all students and have proven success at teaching across all abilities, including A Levels. You will be able to demonstrate outstanding classroom practice. You will contribute to the wider school life, both pastoral and extra-curricular activities is expected.
QEGS is a high-achieving, oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive converter academy. The school is The North London hub for the National SCITT for training Maths and Physics teachers. As a training hub, we offer excellent CPD opportunities for our own staff, in-house, through external partnership and national programmes.
