Digital Leader Visit To Microsoft
On National Safer Internet Day our students were one of only three schools invited to visit the Microsoft Offices in Victoria, London. Read on for Nancy's report on their vist.......
The day was very exciting as just three schools from all over London were invited to join together and look at esafety. As part of our peer education work with Childnet International, we were invited to be part of a national video campaign for Safer Internet Day 2015. Throughout the day we took part in various activities focused on online safety; in particular, the ways that parents approach the topic of safety online. We also saw the premier of our video (see below to watch!) and Joanna and I took part in the Safer Internet Day Youth Panel. On the panel, we took part
In a debate about online safety and the positive uses of technology in terms of bringing people together. The Member of Parliament for Children and Families, Edward Timpson, along with representatives from industry (such as Facebook, Instagram, Samsung, Microsoft etc) watched us. Afterwards, all of the digital leaders got the opportunity to speak to people from industry and charities and to give them advice on online safety. It was a great day and we hope you enjoy the video and remember the message: it’s up to us to create a safer internet together.
